The lazy hk rodeo company was founded in lake chelan by harlan knowles in 1969. in the early 1990's when harlan met christine riddell, they formed not only a partnership out of love for each other, but for the rodeo business as well. with the addition of christine, the bar was added to the lazy hk brand, making it the incredible union that still exists today as the lazy hk bar rodeo company. the passion for breeding and raising bucking bulls over a 45 year span is shared by the entire "family" blood related or not.
breeding generations of atheletically superior bucking bulls is the life work of this team. going back to skoal long, playboy, bonified country and raisin' cain crossing them with select cows has resulted in today's stock. acquiring an amazing katich bred bull has added some size and fire to the program with the addition of the grinch, who has appeared numerous times at the pbr. adding red rivets out of the famous wrangler rivets to this years breeding program ensures the next generation of super stars.
chris and harlan's has always been a place for wayward cowboys, always an open door, always a hot meal. you can't find an event that doesn't have a cowboy who hasn't benefited from the generosity and the love of rodeo. you could say the same for dogs, cats, and horses, and the occasional mule.
if you get a chance to meet harlan, introduce yourself and share a rodeo story. he'd love to hear it!
